Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) registration is for those 3, 4 and 5-year-old students participating in the CGS program. It meets at both class times on Wednesdays (3:45-5:00 PM and 5:45-7:00 PM) and also during the Mothers’ Bible Study on Mondays from 8:45-10:15 AM.

This is a Montessori-based religious formation program for children ages 3, 4 and 5. It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, “hands-on” space for the children called an atrium, in which both the children and their catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in the Scriptures and the Liturgy. It is limited to the first 10 children who register.

Year of the Eucharist (Grades 1-5)

This year, religious education for grades 1-5 will focus on developing a deeper understanding of what the Eucharist is, love for Christ who gives himself to us in the Eucharist, and a desire to receive him in the Eucharist.

Edge (Grade 6-7)

Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry program. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth. Edge resources make it easier for youth ministers to plan out their semesters of Edge Night, retreats, and to train a team of adults, the Core Team, to assist them in the ministry. The resources present Catholic teaching in a way that young people can understand.

Lifeteen (Grade 8-12)

As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen leads teenagers and their families into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. With the Blessed Virgin Mary as our intercessor and guide, Life Teen seeks to unleash the fullness of the Sacramental power present within the young Church.

First Sacraments

This year, first-grade students will begin preparing for First Communion by learning prayers at home with their parents. There are meetings to help parents facilitate this process along with a prayer booklet that will be handed out at the first meeting.

Those students in 2nd grade will be using a new program, BLESSED, by Dynamic Catholic. To better understand the curriculum, there will be several meetings that both the parents and children will attend. Call Jillian in the office if you have questions or concerns.
