Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) registration is for those 3, 4 and 5-year-old students participating in the CGS program. It meets at both class times on Wednesdays (3:45-5:00 PM and 5:45-7:00 PM) and also during the Mothers’ Bible Study on Mondays from 8:45-10:15 AM.

This is a Montessori-based religious formation program for children ages 3, 4 and 5. It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, “hands-on” space for the children called an atrium, in which both the children and their catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in the Scriptures and the Liturgy. It is limited to the first 10 children who register.

Registration is now open for Level 1, Part 2 training!

You can download the registration form here.

8th Grade Curriculum – Theology of the Body

“YOU. Life, Love, and the Theology of the Body” is the new program we will be using for our 8th Grade classes. We will meet on Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:00 PM. The world is a challenging place for teens. It has been increasingly difficult to help teens discover the truth about their bodies, their sexuality, and their unique call to love. In an age of “selfies” and egocentrism, “You” cuts through the noise with an authentic view of the human person. It presents young people with the extraordinary story of their creation as unrepeatable individuals and introduces teens to the truth that life is not all about them; it is about going out of themselves to be a sincere gift for others. This program provides tools to navigate teens through challenging topics and to learn what healthy relationships look like.

First Sacraments

This year, first-grade students will begin preparing for First Communion by learning prayers at home with their parents. There are meetings to help parents facilitate this process along with a prayer booklet that will be handed out at the first meeting. Please register your child using the First Grade Sacramental Preparation 2018-2019.

Those students in 2nd grade will be using a new program, BLESSED, by Dynamic Catholic. To better understand the curriculum, there will be several meetings that both the parents and children will attend. Please fill out the First Communion Registration 2018-2019 form.  The Religious Education Calendar 2018-2019 includes all the dates for these meetings. Download a copy so you don’t miss anything.  Call Mary in the office if you have questions or concerns.
