Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

This is a Montessori-based religious formation program for children ages 3 and 4. It seeks to create and facilitate a sacred, “hands-on” space for the children called an atrium, in which both the children and their catechists can hear, ponder, and celebrate the essential mysteries of the Christian faith as revealed in the Scriptures and the Liturgy. It is limited to the first 12 children who register. Classes will begin at 3:30 PM and end at 5:00 PM on Wednesdays during the Religious Education year.

Preschool and Kindergarten

The Preschool and Kindergarten classes will be using Allelu! This is an exciting early childhood program with innovations that make it easy to engage every child and build his/her faith! It prepares kids for a lifetime in the Catholic Faith. Visit allelu.com for more information.

Grades 1-5

Grades 1-5 will be using Alive in Christ, helping children to know, love, and live our Catholic faith. This is an engaging and doctrinally sound religion curriculum that helps today’s children discover the beauty and truth of our Catholic faith so that they may truly be alive in Christ! 8th Grade Curriculum – Theology of the Body for Middle School

Confirmation isn’t the end of Faith Formation at Blessed Sacrament! This year our 8th Grade program will consist of the Theology of the Body for Middle School. There is little doubt that preteens are in an often confusing time of quest and discovery, especially with issues concerning their bodies, their sexuality, and their future. There are countless sources – from the airwaves to peers, to the internet – ready to provide answers. We seek to respond to these questions according to God’s plan. Theology of the Body for Teens: Middle School Edition uses a great mix of stories, real-life examples, activities, prayers, and references to the culture that are relevant to the lives of our youth. There will be one class for the boys and another class for the girls.

First Sacraments

The First Sacraments program begins each Fall. Parents will guide their children in learning about these Sacraments at home, with support from the church at several parent and parent and child meetings. Read about important details for your child’s first Reconciliation and first Communion.
