If you are 15 or older and willing to donate your time, skills, and efforts to support Blessed Sacrament and other Diocesan needs, upon request, through the gift of sewing, this ministry might be for you! While not a sewing class, this ministry enjoys collaborating their skills to assist the parish with supplying baptismal quilts and bibs, linens for various liturgical seasons, repair of altar server albs, table coverings, and any other requested items. In addition, they aid and support charitable work by making quilts for Terra Sancta, Habitat for Humanity, Right to Life and Church Response. They also make patriotic quilts to be gifted toward our treasured local veterans each year. This ministry meets weekly on Thursdays at 8:30am until noon and on occasion have all day quilt-ins for special projects or to enjoy each other’s company.
We ask that anyone interested have basic sewing skills, are open minded to collaboration, and have a desire to perform charitable works. Due to the expense of sewing machines we ask that you provide your own as we do not have resources to buy them. Blessed Sacrament Parish provides all other basic tools for this group. If you are interested in spending time in service to others and to use your talents, we would love to meet you!
