Joyful Sounds Choir

The Blessed Sacrament Joyful Sounds Choir is comprised of four-part mixed voices. This choir participates in the 11:00 AM Sunday morning liturgy. As a choir, our role for the liturgy is not only to inspire or draw people into individual contemplation but also—and primarily—to help serve the prayer of the gathered assembly.

The choir has weekly practices from September through May on Tuesday evenings in the Church Sanctuary. Practices start at 5:30 PM and end approximately at 6:45 PM.

Accompanist / Instrumentalists

The Joyful Sounds Choir is accompanied primarily by piano. On occasion, other instruments are included as part of the accompaniment.

Music

To assist the Blessed Sacrament Parish to achieve their spiritual mission of enriching the music liturgy, the 11:00 AM Mass includes a variety of sacred music from traditional to contemporary to encourage active participation of the assembly.

Fellowship

Through music and worship, our choir is united as a “family”. To foster this fellowship we have social functions with our families throughout the year, i.e. potlucks. The friendships made as a part of the music ministry family can become a special part of your life.

Music Support

In 2004, our choir produced a CD, “An Invitation to Come Home.”  All proceeds from this CD went to the building fund for the new Parish Hall. The choir wanted to support the “Building to Serve” project at Blessed Sacrament Church. When we pray through music, we are gathered by the Spirit to worship our creator. As a choir, we gave our God-given talent for this project with the prayer that the spirit-filled music lifts and moves the hearts of all who listen. This was a spiritual commitment for our choir and we are very pleased with this CD.

An Invitation

We invite you to become engaged in the Eucharistic celebration. To have the music ministry at Blessed Sacrament Parish be the best it can be, the participation and dedication of many people are encouraged. Consider using your musical talents in the service of God and join the Blessed Sacrament “Joyful Sounds” choir.
