For the Fall 2017 and Spring 2018, there are several opportunities to grow in your faith through Bible Study. Please consider joining one of these studies to continue to enrich your faith life and learn while your children (on Wednesdays) are learning.
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will be offered during religious education classes on Wednesdays at 3:45 PM and 5:45 PM. The class will also be offered Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 PM and on Sunday mornings from 10:00-1130 PM. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible provides the clearest, easiest, and most accessible way to understand the Bible. This is an excellent introduction and overview of Scripture from a Catholic perspective that is suitable for beginners and those who are experienced at Bible study.
Matthew: The King and His Kingdom
On Thursdays from 6:30-8:00 PM, Matthew: The King and His Kingdom by Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmyer will be offered. This is an exciting study that explores the life and mission of Jesus as recorded in the Gospel. Matthew demonstrates how the promises and prophecies of the Old Testament are fulfilled in Christ, who establishes a New Law and inaugurates the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Participants will see Jesus as the awaited Messiah who relives the life and struggles of Israel to become the faithful and victorious King. Set in the rich context of Jesus’ Jewish culture, this study will help participants understand who Jesus is and what his life and teachings mean for us today. Go to wordseekers.org to register for one of these Bible studies.
Additional Wednesday Opportunities
During our Wednesday classes, we hope to continue with the Women’s Bible Study, Walking with Purpose. We are still in need of leaders for this study. There will be a discussion group of the Sunday readings offered by Lynn Soulek at 5:45 PM and also a Spanish Bible study led by Maria Socorro Munoz.
